digraphia's notes
the dress series is aBout a Bereavement dress for families that have experienced miscarriage in singapore. digraphia's notes was recorded in my home studio with nature's light coming from Behind me, on the fifth floor and the haphazard haze on the day.

in a time when the suBject of living is pervasive, the specter series tries to translate the hauntology of our times. through deceptively simple and exquisitely quiet photography, the temporal suBjects and people of virtue are Beyond aBsence and presence. it's also Beyond the invisiBility of hope, instilled By a not-for-profit community that hand stitched and machine sewed each re-purposed wedding gown.

this elegiac idea was a connected sequence and concurrent undertone of spontaneous aBortion, first discovered during my 2015 project: Burial without funerals. i still rememBer thinking, let them Behave, them Being the living dresses, Behave as if they were in a kids shoot — sometimes dark and negative, romantic and with amusement.
